Ballet Instructor
At the age of six months, Jessica’s baby photos reflected her desire to be a ballerina. She would pointe her toes while in sitting position. At age four, she took her first dance classes in tap and ballet. Jessica was accepted into the Sr. Company at Rocky Mountain Ballet at the age of 11, and later became a Principal dancer with the Company and started performing leading roles at age 13. Some of Jessica’s Principal roles include: Odette (White Swan) in Swan Lake, Lise in La Fille Mal Gardee, Kitri in Don Quixote, Swanilda in Coppelia and the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker. Jessica has also performed the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy as a Guest Artist.
Jessica has received several scholarships to Summer Intensive Workshops across the nation, where she had opportunities to take class from: David Howard, teacher of Mikhail Baryshnikov; Maria Tallchief, America’s Prima Ballerina, and Galina Mezentseva, Prima Ballerina Assoluta.
Jessica has been teaching ballet since the age of 15. She has taught at many dance studios in Utah County, but loves the professionalism found at The Pointe.
She loves teaching young dancers, and sharing her love of ballet with them. Jessica not only teaches technique, but works on performance quality. She teaches and motivates each dancer to become the very best they can. She teaches that dance is not just about doing the steps, but about dancing from the heart.
Jessica graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Marriage, Family, Human Development. She is married to her high school sweetheart. Jessica loves to travel, and a memorable experience of hers is getting to watch the Bolshoi Ballet perform in the Bolshoi Opera House in Moscow, Russia.
