Ballet Instructor -
Erin received her early training at the Clytie Adams School of Ballet and the Ballet West Conservatory where she studied ballet, jazz and modern dance. During her training she performed several years in Ballet West’s The Nutcracker and also performed in The Utah Ballet’s Snow Queen.
Erin attended Brigham Young University where she studied dance under several instructors, including Mark Lanham, Yi Qi Cheng and Kim Lanham. While attending BYU, Erin was a member of the Cougarette dance team and a Songleader performing at basketball games, football games, and other events. She was also featured as a solo dancer for Salt Lake City’s The Grand Theater production of The King and I and the Miss Utah Pageant. Erin taught ballet and jazz and choreographed competition routines for several years locally in Utah.
In 1995 Erin became one of the inaugural members of the professional Dance company Odyssey Dance Theater, under the direction of Derryl Yeager. After performing for two seasons with Odyssey, Erin moved to New York City. While in New York, she trained at the Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway, working under many well-known instructors and choreographers such as AC Ciulla, Mia Michaels, and Michael Owens. Erin then taught ballet at the Tenafly Performing Arts Studio in New Jersey under the direction of Sandra St. Laurent.
Erin loves helping children progress and enjoys instilling in them a love and appreciation for dance. She graduated from BYU with a BA in Humanities and History in 1996. She has four children and is thrilled to be living and teaching in Utah again.
