Amy Lives

Triple Threat Instructor -

Amy Lives graduated in Dance from BYU in 1991. While at BYU she performed abroad with The Young Ambassadors and The Dancers Company. She was the first recipient of the Susan Parson’s Award. She also got dance scholarships, Dancer’s Choice Award, and Best Choreography. She received a full scholarship to the Ririe Woodbury Intensive Summer Workshop. Amy completed her MFA in Dance from the University of Utah in 1995. Meanwhile, performing four summers at Sundance Summer Theater and two summers at Promised Valley Playhouse. In 1995 Amy began teaching dance classes at BYU. She directed the Summer Dance Medley Camp in 1997 and was Assistant Director in 1998. She was Assistant Professor from 1996-1998 and she taught and choreographed dances at Utah Valley University. She was Adjunct Faculty in the BYU Dance Department from 1995-2003. While there she choreographed “The Merry Widow”, “My Fair Lady”, “Soft Shoe”, “Brigadoon” and “Song and Dance”. She has choreographed shows at the Scera Shell and Provo Theater Company. In 2003 she was the full-time choreographer at Lagoon for the summer and Halloween shows. She has also taught dance at the Children’s Dance Program at BYU, the Virginia Tanner Studio at the University of Utah, South Valley Creative Dance and Creative Edge Dance Studio. She resides in Draper and loves playing tennis.
