CONTESTANT INFORMATION:

Contestant entry fee: $15 ages 8-14; $20 Ages 15 and Up
Entrants may compete as a Soloist or Duo Dancers should come prepared with two pieces of choreography, 30 sec/60sec. Please bring two copies of your 60 second routine music to the Preliminary Audition. Please have them labeled with your name.
We will only be accepting the first 75 entries per age group-Get your registration in today!
We welcome all styles, levels and ages! In the end you will be dancing for the crowd’s vote!
You don’t have to be the best dancer to WIN, you have to be the FAVORITE!
As this will be a family entertainment event, we ask that all costuming be modest and music and dance moves appropriate for all ages. Please no low-cut or half-tops. Failure to comply will result in elimination from the competition.

PRELIMINARY AUDITION ROUND

Will be held on Wednesday, July 31 at The Pointe Academy in Highland (10981 N 5600 W) You will be emailed your audition time, auditions will begin at 1:00pm. The judges will give feedback and narrow the competitors to a Top 8 (ages 8-14) and a Top 15 (ages 15-100).

FINALS

Finals will be held Friday, August 2 at Heritage Park in Highland
Ages 8-14 at 4:30pm The ten finalists from round one will compete for your vote! After a round of each contestant’s one minute routine, the judges will narrow it to a Top 3. The Top 3 will then Dance for the Vote (30 second piece) and all audience members will text in their choice for Highland’s Favorite Young Dancer! The overall winner of this round will win $150, dance at the finals later that night, and will be in the parade and perform at the Highland Fling festivities on Saturday! Prizes will be given to all contestants.
Ages 15-100 at 6:30pm The top twenty finalists from round one will compete for your vote! Judges will narrow the Top 15 to Top 4. The Top 4 will then Dance for Your Vote (30 second piece) and then all audience members will text in their choice for Highland’s Favorite Dancer! The overall winner will win $1000!!, dance at the finals later that night, and will be in the parade and perform at the Highland Fling festivities on Saturday! Prizes will be given to all contestants.
We have CELEBRITY judges and HOST scheduled for both rounds. Judges will give verbal commentary.
When preparing your choreography, please note that this will be an outdoor event, and the stage is 34′ long by 24′ wide. The flooring will be marley. For more information, please email thepointeacademy@gmail.com.
